In Canada's province of British Columbia, traditional single-action mooching reels remain the preferred tackle choice for saltwater salmon fishing. Maintaining the traditional action, but applying advanced construction features to the platform, is the Okuma Cavalla mooching reel. Incorporating a precision machined aluminum frame, aluminum spool and stainless steel spool shaft, the Cavalla begins with a premium foundation.

Three precision ball-bearings add fluid handling. For power and control, the Cavalla incorporates a proprietary multi-disc Carbonite lever drag system. Easily adjusted to reliable settings, the lever drag can be quickly switched to control line off the spool when setting downriggers, then instantly returned to fish fighting force.
